Just the other day I had to take a family member to the E.R. Everything is fine now so no worries. There was no reception in the building to make phone calls so I had to go outside to make a call. I went right outside the door to use the phone and what I saw shocked the hell out of me. There were several people standing outside smoking cigarettes. There were several things wrong with that picture. The fact that we were at the hospital and smoking outside the building is tolerated was the first one. There was one lady hooked up to an I.V. (with a cigarette), the man that she was with had on oxygen (smoking a cigarette). There were 2 VERY heavy women outside (smoking a cigarette) I guess the question is when do we start to take responsibility for our health? Not just for ourselves but for our family. I look around and realize that it is not just 1 gender or 1 race that has the problem it is a little bit of everyone. Am I as healthy as I could be? "No" Can I do better at eating right and exercising? "Yes" I guess what I am asking is when did we as a people stop taking care of ourselves? I am sure that we all know someone out there that could use some help or guidance or you yourself could use some help in the health department. Lets make a pledge to help ourselves or help someone else if they let you to be a healthier human being. Please respond in some form via email, text, blog or Facebook on how you can help yourself or someone else be a healthier human being.

Hey sister, I finally got a chance to read your blogs. I have seen the same stuff. People have a tendancy to take their health for granted. I don't think health is the number one prority for most. I guess for some they just don't care once they are already sick. Makes no sense to me.
