Well ,here we are about to embark on a new year. I have tried in the past year to do everything that I said that I was going to do for 2008. I fell short because I let things get in the way. I am not making any resolutions because they just do not work. Of course some of the most common are to loose weight, go to the gym, stop smoking and stop cursing. I could come up with a few hundred more.I think the the main reasons resolutions fail is because we loose focus or we just make them unrealistic. Why expect yourself to do something every first of the year that you could not or would not do in the middle of the year? What I like to do is set my new year on my Birthday. That day is just for me. When I try to set goals for myself I try not to aim so high. I try to keep it simple and realistic and something that I can make a life changing habit. Now with all of that being said have I failed on my personal new year sure I have but I am hoping that this year will be different. I would like your opinion.

If you are making a new years resolution what is it and how do plan on following through with it?

Do you believe in making new years resolutions?

Thanks and be blessed!

I have made the resolution for several years to take better care of my health. Failed miserably. Same thing this year. I have had the of intention of following thru every time and again failed. Would probably help if I did one small thing, get in the habit of doing it, then start with another small thing etc.
The only resolution I can remeber following thru with is to wear my seat belts.(more than likely this one saved my life in an accident 13 yrs. ago) I had to work at it for several months, but eventually I started to use them without thinking about it. I see nothing wrong with making resolutions. I think the key is to "take small steps" to get to your goal. Help with getting there from family and friends would be good too I think. Gary
